Oconee azalea (Rhododendron flammeum) is a deciduous shrub that typically matures to 6 to 8 feet tall and wide. It is found growing wild on stream bluffs, upland forests, and longleaf pine forests in South Carolina and Georgia. The showy flowers come in a numbrer of saturated colors - from deep red to dark orange to deep salmon. Hardy in zones: 6-8, Oconee azalea prefers morning sun and afternoon shade and requires good soil drainage.
Our plants are seed grown and there is some variation in flower color. We pride ourselves on growing high quality native plants with a healthy root system.
