Pawpaw, Asimina triloba

The pawpaw tree (Asimina triloba) is a hardy native fruit tree producing the largest edible fruit native to North America. Pawpaws have smooth green skin and a creamy, custard-like flesh with tropical notes of banana, mango, and melon. Trees are cold-tolerant, thrive in temperate climates, and are well suited for home orchards and edible landscapes. They’re the host plant for zebra swallowtail butterflies. 

These plants are grown from seed and so are genetically different from one another and will cross-pollinate each other.
