'Red Sprite' winterberry (Ilex verticillata ‘Red Sprite') is a dwarf selection of the highly ornamental native winterberry holly prized for its abundant, bright red berries that persist into winter, creating striking seasonal color. This deciduous shrub matures to only 3' tall and wide and is perfect for native plant landscapes, wildlife gardens, and rain gardens, thriving in moist to wet soils. This is a female shrub and so will produce berries. For best berry production, pair with a male pollinator such as ‘Southern Gentleman’ or 'Jim Dandy'.
